New Chair of the GIZ Management Board

At its meeting on 14 September 2022, the Supervisory Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH unanimously appointed Managing Director Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel Chair of the GIZ Management Board. He will take over from Tanja Gönner on 1 November 2022 when she becomes the Director General of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). Schäfer-Gümbel joined the GIZ Management Board in October 2019 and is currently Labour Relations Director.
