Carry out orders for us

GIZ awards its contracts on a transparent, competitive, sustainable and cost-effective basis. As a federal company, it does so in accordance with applicable procurement law and with a commitment to promoting sustainable supply chains.

We work closely with the private sector and consulting firms. We award contracts for services and construction work as well as contracts for supplies (materials and equipment) in accordance with the current provisions of procurement law.

We are guided in our procurement practices by international standards for sustainable procurement. In recognition of this, the German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) certified us in 2023 as a 'responsible procurement organisation’. For more information, see ‘Sustainable action’

You can find an overview of our current and completed contract awards further down this page. Some of our procurement is also carried out locally by our country offices in our partner countries. You can find information about this on the respective country pages. For more information, see ‘Changing regions’

Procurement as a booster for climate action

Thanks to a framework agreement, only air-conditioning units that use natural refrigerants are installed in GIZ offices. This will allow us to cut thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions worldwide. GIZ is also employing high-tech green air-conditioning solutions at its major locations in Germany.
