Dual study programmes

The dual study programme at GIZ: what it looks like in practice

What we offer during the dual study programme

To ensure that you can successfully complete your dual study programme with us, we offer you (as of January 2025):

  • a personal contact partner throughout the entire dual study programme
  • an attractive, collectively agreed training allowance – you start with a gross monthly salary of EUR 1,343 in the first year of training
  • a 13th monthly salary and leave allowance of EUR 250 gross per year
  • employee savings schemes (EUR 26.59 per month)
  • meal allowance of EUR 60 gross per month
  • book allowance of EUR 100 per academic year
  • technical equipment (laptop, headset, etc.) to enable mobile working in accordance with GIZ guidelines
  • a free RMV job ticket (Eschborn location) or a VRS job ticket (Bonn) or a Germany ticket (Bonn location) and a travel allowance of EUR 30 per month (depending on location)

a rental allowance of EUR 300 per month for the theoretical phases of the dual study programme at the universities of Trier, Mannheim or Stuttgart (if the requirements are met) 

  • discounted conditions in selected fitness studios, and company health management services to maintain a good work-life balance.
