GIZ PCG P2 Project holds writing workshops for Basic PCG UAV Doctrine and Curriculum Capacity Building
Two Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Writing Workshops for UAV Doctrine and Curriculum Capacity Building were conducted by the GIZ PCG P2 Project, August 6-9, at Quest Convention Center, Clark, Pampanga.
The PCG UAV Doctrine Writing Workshop was attended by representatives from the four PCG UAV Doctrine Technical Working Groups (TWG) namely: 1) TWG on Organization, Mission, and Operations, 2) TWG on Personnel, Education, and Training, 3) TWG on Sustainment, Maintenance, and Logistics, and TWG on Legal Considerations. During the activity, the draft of the Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS) Doctrine was reviewed. Valeene Salanga, PCG P2 Advisor for Policy Implementation, served as the workshop facilitator.
The PCG Curriculum Capacity Building and Writing Workshop was attended by representatives from the Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) Leadership and Doctrines Development Center (LDDC). The 3-day activity was comprised of a doctrine-writing capacity-building talk, a capacity-building workshop on curriculum concepts, principles and practices, and a writing workshop for data security and digital evidence curriculum. Reg Sevilla Sibal, PCG P2 Advisor for Capacity Building Measures in Digital Evidence, served as resource person for the workshop for curriculum and framework development, and facilitator for the curriculum writing workshop.
Robert Arnold Chuidian, Chief, Plans and Policy Branch of the Presidential Office for Maritime Concerns, was the resource person for capability building for the UAV doctrine group and for doctrine writing for the curriculum group.
During the activity, Maurizio Noll, the PCG P2 Project Manager, handed over additional laptops, cameras and printers to the PCG. This was received on behalf of the PCG by CG Commo Ramon S. Lopez, Deputy Commander CG MARSLEC. This adds to the procured equipment first handed over last 7 March 2024.
