US-German internship programme

New York, Los Angeles, or maybe somewhere more rural? The US-German Internship Program, run by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Government, is again offering up to 70 young people from Germany the chance to gain initial work experience in the USA in 2018. By completing a work-related internship for up to a year, young professionals and graduates up to the age of 26 can gain a real insight into how people live and work in the USA.

Together with its US partner organisation, Cultural Vistas, GIZ assists participants in applying for the J-1 visa, supports them during their stay in the USA and provides financial support in the form of grants and a travel expenses subsidy from the Ger-man Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Partici-pants have the opportunity to take part in language courses and are responsible for finding their own internship.
