Legal traineeship in Germany and worldwide

Would you like to complete an elective placement in international cooperation as part of your law degree? GIZ offers this opportunity.

Elective placement in Germany

In our Legal Affairs and Insurance Unit, a team of legal experts in Bonn and Eschborn deals with any legal issues that arise in Germany and in partner countries. The transnational and interdisciplinary nature of international cooperation for sustainable development results in a broad and varied range of legal issues.

As a trainee, you will support the unit in addressing these issues. You will accompany them to internal meetings and external appointments. You will also take part in team meetings in the Legal Affairs and Insurance Unit. You will process suitable requests independently and be in direct contact with customers.

If you are interested, you will also have the opportunity to gain an insight into technical planning and supporting of legal projects that GIZ implements together with its partner countries.

Elective placement worldwide

As a legal trainee at one of our locations worldwide, you will take on specific tasks on site, which you will carry out independently under guidance and supervision. This will give you an insight into the legal aspects of international cooperation and introduce you to local GIZ projects.

If you are interested in an elective placement in Germany, please email your letter of application and CV to Ms Christine Werthmann at the Legal Affairs and Insurance Unit.

If you are interested in an elective placement abroad, you may select a project that suits you and get in touch with the specified contact person. We look forward to hearing from you.
