Capacity Development for Stakeholders in Lesotho on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, through its project “Lesotho Economic Growth, Job Creation and EPA Implementation Support Programme”, co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), cordially invites interested and qualified consulting firms to send in a proposal for:  

Capacity Development for Public and Private Sector Stakeholders in Lesotho on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures.

Lesotho Economic Growth, Job Creation and EPA Implementation Support Programme is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with the Lesotho Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development (MTIBD), as part of the BMZ project “Cooperation for the Enhancement of SADC Regional Economic Integration (CESARE III)”. The project seeks to support the implementation of the EU-Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) EPA in Lesotho and support regional and international trade through the development of regional value chains in agro-processing and in light industry. The overall objective of the project is to is to foster Lesotho’s inclusive economic development and sustainable regional and international trade, with a focus on selected value chains.

The objective of this capacity development initiative is to build the capacities of public and private stakeholders in Lesotho in effectively implementing and monitoring SPS measures under the EU-SADC EPA, with a focus on products in the agro-processing and light industry value chains being supported by the Project in Lesotho.

GIZ invites eligible consulting firms from Lesotho and the SADC region with local presence in South Africa to participate in this tender.
