Research on the Psychosocial Impact of whistleblowers

The Transparency, Integrity and Accountability Programme in South Africa (TIP) supports state and non-state actors in their independent roles to collaborate on implementing the National Anti-corruption Strategy (NACS). Through partnerships and collaboration, TIP works towards fostering active citizenry, developing capacities of key anti-corruption institutions, and establishing multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Research is required to investigate the psychosocial impact experienced by whistleblowers and their support structures during their whistleblowing journey, to gain insights into the challenges and trends faced by psychologists, and mental health practitioners when providing support to whistleblowers. From the research above the service provider is required to develop a Wellness Toolkit based on the research findings to guide and support both individual (potential) whistleblowers and mental health professionals involved in their care and a discussion paper on the findings from the practitioner’s perspective.

GIZ invites eligible and professional companies with local presence in South Africa to participate in this tender.
