Celebrating 20 Years of Partnership

We had the honour of welcoming H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fathallah Sijilmassi, Director General of the African Union Commission, H.E. Ambassador Stephan Auer, Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia and the African Union, and other esteemed guests to the GIZ African Union office in Addis Ababa as we celebrated 20 years of being a trusted partner to the African Union.

The celebration highlighted the enduring partnership between the African Union and Germany, built on mutual trust and shared success towards achieving the AU’s Agenda 2063 and delivering impactful results. During the event, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fathallah Sijilmassi expressed his optimism for the future, remarking, “We are looking forward to yet another cycle of 20 years to reach our common ambitions.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our partners for their trust and collaboration over the past decades. As we commemorate this milestone, we look forward to many more years of meaningful cooperation and shared achievements.
