Security Risk Management - Analyst
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is seeking for the “Security Risk Management (SRM)” team a qualified staff member to fill the position of a: Security Risk Management - Analyst (full-time, Kyiv)

The “Security Risk Management (SRM)” supports all projects of the German state development cooperation and fulfils tasks to support the delivery capability and the best possible guarantee of personal security of its clientele. The RMO provide services in three fields of action: (1) information and advice, (2) coordination of missions, and (3) crisis prevention and management.
Tasks and Functions:
- Coordinates and assists in preparing and conducting security assessments.
- Develops and maintains contact with other analysts of international and national organizations.
- Ensures knowledge management by collecting, processing, distributing, and filing relevant information.
- Assist in preparing material for security briefings and when needed be able to conduct briefings.
- Providing inputs to security and political developments to the SRM team.
- Drafting analysis on relevant requested topics.
- Supporting GIS specialist by gather and analyze security data and information through daily data entry of security incidents.
- Monitoring the political and security situation in Ukaine and surrounding countries.
- Support in drafting of monthly statistics data and graphs when needed.
- As part of the SRMA-Analysts team responsible for drafting scenarios and contribute to indicators and measures.
- To support and enable the effective and timely response to all security-related threats and other emergencies.
- To ensure effective risk mitigation through the establishment of a coordinated security threat and risk assessment mechanism within the framework of a common, system-wide methodology.
- Support the development of high-quality, best-practise security policies, standards and operational procedures for GIZ, including the appropriate degree of standardization.
- To support implementation and monitor compliance with those security policies, standards and operational procedures.
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Other tasks:
- Responsible for the Northeastern Quadrant of Ukraine and establishing networks with projects working in that quadrant.
- From time to time will be rotation advisor to international travelers.
- Working closely with Project Security Focal Points (SFPs).
- Drafting of Site Security Assessment in your area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
- University degree (or equivalent) in political science, international studies, or equivalent field.
Professional experience:
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in an international organisation in a comparable position.
- A good knowledge of the political and security context is an asset.
- Working with International NGO is an asset.
Other knowledge, additional competences:
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office application (e.g. word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to portray complex situations in an easily digestible manner to different audiences, as storyteller and contributor to managerial decision-making.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds, service oriented, friendly personality, well organized and motivated.
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.
- Fluent in Ukrainian and English.
- Be able to work over hours and weekends, if necessary, be available for standby duty on a regular basis.

Employment conditions
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Duty station: Kyiv or Lviv. The contract duration is one year with a probability for prolongation.
