Internal Control Specialist
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the Country Office to fill the position of the: Internal Control Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for the
- Planning and monitoring of IC activities in GIZ portfolio Ukraine.
- Realizing internal controls in projects.
- Reporting on patterns of low quality and need for training.
- Coordinating a team of internal controllers composed of Country Office staff and project.
- Qualifying the team of internal controllers.
- Regular reporting to superior management of GZ Ukraine on results and observations.
- Training on internal control.
- Advising in adjustment in processes.
- Participating in IC Hub network.
- Networking with IC team in Headquarter of GIZ in Germany, especially in case of special
- situation / findings.
- Member of compliance core team.
Tasks:
Coordination tasks:
- Annual planning of IC activities in line with P+R and in close communication with projects.
- Pro-actively involving selected colleagues in IC topics and realization of IC.
- Monitoring of IC activities, reporting and measures to be undertaken.
- Adjusting control activities to the new reality under S4HANA and bundling on cluster level.
- Presenting and updating information and recommendation on the Intranet page.
Task for IC activities:
- Realizing majority of necessary IC with support by selected colleagues including monitoring of feedback from projects on measures.
- Analyzing outcome of internal controls and define relevant areas of training and improved knowledge management.
- Ability to travel constantly throughout the country to conduct IC activities in accordance with the RISK Management Guidelines.
- Regularly re-checking and updating the knowledge of the GIZ P+R (Processes and regulations) and the domestic policies and procedures.
Other Duties / Additional Tasks
- Cooperation with IC specialists in other Country Offices.
- Participation in regular meeting with finance managers and finance/procurement team.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
Education/training:
- BA in business administration or similar.
Professional experience:
- At least 4 years’ experience as internal controller or auditor in auditing company.
- Experience in auditing international organization based in Ukraine.
- Experience in auditing EU-cofinanced activities is an advantage.
IT knowledge:
- Standard Microsoft Office package.
- SAP.
Language qualifications:
- Very good English knowledge in speaking and writing.
- Ukrainian mother language.
- German knowledge would be an asset.
- Further competencies:
- Good communication skills.
- Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in planning and realizing control activities in a team.
- Investigative skills.
- Ability to recognize sensitive issues and timely, confidential communication.
Employment conditions
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Contract duration is 1 year. Prolongation is possible.
