ROLMIN: A celebration of peace and access to justice
In line with the celebration of National Peace Consciousness Month, GIZ’s Promotion of Rule of Law in Mindanao (ROLMIN) conducted a Partners’ Forum on September 25 in Davao City to highlight the project’s work in promoting peace by improving access to justice and land rights in the Mt. Apo Natural Park (MANP). Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the ROLMIN Project collaborated with relevant government agencies, stakeholders, and communities in MANP to harmonize land titling policies, mainstream gender-sensitive alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and strengthen the capacities of local complaint bodies.
The Forum showcased best practices and lessons that can be applied and scaled-up beyond the current implementation site through three different thematic panel discussions. Community partners who benefited from the Project’s capacity-building initiatives also participated, sharing their experiences. The event served as the culmination of the 2-year program and a celebration of the milestones achieved. Cultural performances by the Apo Sandawa Group were also featured, promoting the Project’s key messages focused on finding peaceful ways to resolve land-related disputes.
