GIZ PCG P2 Project holds Basic Information Security Training for NMC, POMC and PCG

The GIZ Project "Support to the Philippine Coast Guard in Securing the Rules-based International Order in the Indo-Pacific Phase II (PCG P2)" held a series of Information Technology (IT) Security training courses, 5-14 August. The first batch was attended by six personnel from the National Maritime Center (NMC) and 3 personnel from the Presidential Office for Maritime Concerns (POMC). The succeeding sessions, held at the City Garden Suites Hotel, Makati, were attended by 34 PCG personnel from different PCG Offices.

In his welcome remarks, Maurizio Noll, the PCG P2 Project Manager, shares that IT Security training aims to provide the PCG and its personnel information on data protection and security practices. This is one of the Project objectives of providing capacity-building measures for the PCG in support of its mandate. The training courses provided the participants with an introduction to information security concepts and practices on individual and organizational IT Security.

The PCG P2 Project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) through the Enhancement Initiative.
