CEGGA II hosts Programme Management Workshop to jointly plan and update key activities
In Vientiane Capital on May 20, 2024, the Citizen Engagement for Good Governance, Accountability and the Rule of Law Programme (CEGGA) II and the Cabinet Office of Ministry of Home Affairs jointly held a Programme Management Workshop. This event aimed at reviewing the implementation progress of milestones for 2023-2024, and to identify key activities and milestones for the operational plan for 2024-2025.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Phetsomphone Souvanvixay, Deputy Director General of the Cabinet Office at the Ministry of Home Affairs, and co-chaired by Ms. Barbara Meincke, CEGGA Programme Director, GIZ Laos, and attended by representatives from various government partners including the Ministry of Home Affairs, National Assembly, Ministry of Justice, and partners from two provinces: Luang Prabang Province and Khammouane Province, namely of the Legislative Branch, the Home Affairs and Justice Sectors, and the technical teams from CEGGA-GIZ.
The workshop proceeded in a lively atmosphere, with participants actively contributing diverse ideas and proposing priority activities and milestones. They discussed synergies across programme components to achieve output indicators and overall objectives of the Programme. Additionally, participants exchanged ideas and opinions on the expected results and impact of the CEGGA II Programme.
The CEGGA II Programme is a joint initiative of the Government of Lao PDR and its “Team Europe” partners Switzerland, Germany and the EU. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been tasked to implement the programme to achieve the overall objective of increasing citizens’ engagement in the national development process of Lao PDR through the promotion of good governance, the rule of law and access to justice.
