Early Warning System of transboundary flood and drought is brought to discuss in the 5th 9C-9T National Working Group Meeting

The 5th National Working Group meeting of the 9C-9T Joint Project was held on 25th March 2024 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Representatives from relevant ministries, with the support of the project team, discussed the design of the transboundary flood and drought Early Warning System. The 9C-9T is the name of the sub-basin between Cambodia and Thailand, a hotspot for floods and droughts in the lower Mekong River Basin.

The German Development Cooperation provides funding for the Joint Project, jointly implemented by GIZ and the Mekong River Commission in the frame of Transboundary Water Cooperation Programme.

The 9C-9T Joint Project is a success story of Transboundary Water Cooperation (TWC) which can be replicated to other sub-basins in the Lower Mekong Basin.
