One DENR-GIZ National Steering Committee (NSC) Meeting highlights importance of green projects in the Philippines

The meeting served as a platform to provide updates on projects implemented by GIZ in partnership with DENR and to discuss matters related to the cooperation. In his opening message, GIZ Country Director Immanuel Gebhardt highlighted that GIZ’s work in the Philippines is increasingly oriented towards “green” development, which was demonstrated by the overview on projects featuring environmental components. During the meeting, the two parties raised concerns regarding, among others, the handover of project equipment, delegation visits, and site selection. It was agreed to share documents of ongoing and completed projects and to explore appropriate mechanisms for evaluating project impacts. In cases where processing of Note Verbale, Special Presidential Authority and Implementation Agreement are ongoing, preparatory activities can be coordinated to avoid delays.
