Summer School for Extractive Industry Stakeholders in Ghana
The Accountability and Resource Governance Component of the Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID) Project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with SECO and NRGI and are organizing a Summer School for key stakeholders in the extractive industry from 16 – 23 July 2023, in Takoradi on the Theme: “Effective Resource Governance As We Transition”.
Key stakeholders for the Summer School will include Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), The Ghana Extractives Industries Transparency Initiative (GHEITI), The Ghana Audit Service (GAS), The Centre for Extractives and Development Africa (CEDA), The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), MOR Institute of Petroleum & Energy Studies (MIPES), The Africa Institute for Extractive Industries (AIEI) together with other key stakeholders in Ghana’s extractives industry.
The training will be concentrated on real data and case studies in the following areas:
1. Maximizing the benefits of oil, gas, and mining in Ghana
2. Environmental and Social Impact of the Extractives industry
3. Formulation and management of mining contracts and agreements
4. Digital transformations, BO disclosure and Anti-corruption
