Context
In Tunisia it is difficult to implement labour market policy reforms and provide labour market services for disadvantaged target groups such as women, returnees or long-term unemployed persons. This is due to insufficient planning, management and coordination of such services to date.
Objective
Employment relationships and labour market structures in Tunisia have improved.
Approach
To optimise labour market structures, the project pursues three fields of activity: social dialogue, entrepreneurship and employment. Within these fields, the following measures are being implemented:
- In the social dialogue field of activity, social partners in government as well as in the private sector are empowered to jointly address labour market policy conditions. To this end, companies are directly involved in a bid to improve employment conditions in the private sector.
- The entrepreneurship field of activity comprises entrepreneurship as such as well as social/solidarity entrepreneurship and the topic of formalisation with the aim of creating jobs. Specific measures are intended to provide entrepreneurs with access to financing and also better market access.
- The employment field of activity supports young people in Tunisia in obtaining qualifications and in their professional integration. To this end, the project implements reskilling and training measures in various sectors.
