GIZ at the European Development Days: Inspiring new partnerships and innovative solutions
The European Development Days (EDD) have established themselves as a key event in the European and global development calendar. Each year, the forum organised by the European Commission brings the development community together to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the current most pressing challenges.
Join the EDD 2022 in Brussels or digitally from all around the globe
Everyone can participate in the leading forum for development and international cooperation. Be there on 21-22 June - live in Brussels or digitally, worldwide, and free of charge!
Registration is now open on the EDD website until 8 June 2022 for the live event in Brussels and until 17 June 2022 for digital access. This means that you can still sign up until just a few days before the event (for more, follow #EDD22 on @EU_Partnerships on Twitter).
This year’s theme: Global Gateway
Under the main thread “Global Gateway: building sustainable partnerships for a connected world”, the EDD 2022 agenda focuses on the EU’s new “Global Gateway” strategy. Global Gateway emphasises clean and sustainable solutions in the digital, energy and transport realm, as well as strengthening health, education, and research systems around the world. The focus is to improve resilient connections around the world and to invest in quality infrastructure, thereby building a better future.
GIZ involvement: From hydrogen to education
As in previous years, GIZ will share its experiences and project examples in diverse discussion panels and showcase its work, most notable through the following two sessions:
21 June 2022, 17:35-18:20: The sustainable Twin-Goals of the Global European Hydrogen Facility (Lab Debate, on-site and online)
22 June 2022, 14:50-15:10: Low tech’ high impact: massive teacher training with the Future Teacher Kit (Agora Session, on-site)
In addition, GIZ will contribute to sessions and stands of international and bilateral partners like the African Union Development Agency, OECD, the European Commission, the D4D Hub, the Kingdom of Lesotho’s Ministry of Water, European Member State Organisations like Expertise France and Enabel and many more. All GIZ contributions can be found in the EDD online programme (filter option “GIZ”).
